Welcome to Derma Essentia!!
Little humidity can be useful for your skin but if the water in air peaks about 100% it can be. It can make your skin more prone to acne, blemishes, eczema, and breakouts. You would be astonished to know that you don't perspire in a humid climate, but your sweat seems to stay longer on your skin that leads to clogged pores and breakouts in the skin. The more pores make skin more sensitive to gather more dirt, oil, toxins, and pollutants from the atmosphere. Moreover,  humidity can also uplift the sebaceous glands to produce more sebum making your skin more oily. While you can't change the climate but you can make a few alterations in your regular skin care routine that can help to revitalize your skin.

Here is your new skin care routine to keep your complexion glowing and oil-free when humidity hits 95%:-

  • Cleanse your skin
Cleansing your skin twice a day can be helpful in eliminating clogged impurities, balance excess oil and sweat, and prevent your skin from breakouts and acne. It is better first to use a lubricant, balm or cream cleanser to get rid of pollution, dead skin cells and oil and then an instant glowing anti-pollution foaming facewash. It will help you to feel clean and hydrated.
  • Do not forget the Sunscreen protection
Wearing a good sunscreen is crucial in hot and humid weather as damage due to the sun can cause premature ageing and uneven skin tone. So, switch to a gel based sunscreen with SPF above 30, and don't forget to reapply throughout the day as required.

  • Use a water-based moisturiser
Humid climates leave your skin more oily, so use lightweight water-based or gel based moisturiser that makes your skin hydrated and helps to lock moisture when it is damp.
  • Keep a minimal makeup
Makeup is often ticklish in humid climates. It can clog pores and can irritate your skin when you sweat. So, choose a non-comedogenic formulation that doesn't clog pores and avoid cream-based formulations.
  • Do a clay mask as dirt is your friend
Mud and clay are natural purifying agents for skin. It helps to remove out any impurities and soaks extra sebum on the surface of the skin. So, apply the clay/mud mask 2-3 times to draw out any excess impurities on a deeper level.
  • Eat and drink healthy
Diet plays a crucial role in during a humid climate. Eat watery and juicy fruits like watermelons,  cucumber, mango, litchi, black plum, etc. to keep yourself hydrated from inside. Drink a lot of water. Also, consume green leafy veggies, protein-rich foods, and low-fat dairy products, etc. It will help you maintain the health and glow of your skin quickly.
